We provide a voice to the marginalized student populations at OSU by showcasing their talents, accomplishments, and stories that make them who they are.
In celebration of Black History Month, Black x Bold Magazine and The Lantern have come together for the third installment of the Black Voices project. In an effort to highlight the Black experience on campus, the project presents stories highlighting and celebrating the experiences and achievements of both former and current Ohio State students and faculty.
“My vision was that for every single simulation that is carried out by OSU or across the country, I want it to have Black and brown patients represented,” Shane Scott said.

Students, faculty, and local activists gathered outside of the Ohio Union Wednesday to protest an event hosted by Turning Point USA. The event featured a Q&A session with organization founder Charlie Kirk and political commentator Candace Owens. The campus chapter and the university received backlash for hosting an organization with conservative viewpoints on education, the economy, race, and the LGBTQ+ community.
In a jubilee-style discussion, students were asked to give their stance on influences and practices in Black culture Monday as a part of Ohio State’s 45th annual African American Heritage Festival.
